Paul Ifill
Champion Coach, Former Premier League Player

Our People

Paul Ifill
Professional Footballer | Award-Winning Coach

As a player, Ifill was an accomplished winger in the English Premier League and English Championship with Millwall, Sheffield United, and Crystal Palace. His career highlights include playing for Millwall in the 2004 FA Cup final against Manchester United.

He later moved to New Zealand to join A-League club Wellington Phoenix FC, where he made over 100 appearances, establishing himself as a club legend with a strike rate of nearly one goal every three games.

Transitioning into coaching, Paul took the reins at Christchurch United in late 2021. He successfully guided them back into National League football after a three-decade absence, culminating in a historic Chatham Cup victory in 2023.

He moved to Wellington Olympic as the club’s director of football in late 2023, leading them to back-to-back Central League/Chatham Cup doubles in 2024 and 2025.

Paul’s deep understanding of the game, combined with his passion for helping the next generation succeed, makes him an ideal mentor for young footballers looking to master both their physical and mental game. He knows what it takes to make it at the top, and his experience helps athletes translate mental skills into on-field success.
